A metà aprile del 1980, i Cure fecero un tour di 6 date nel Nord Est degli Stati Uniti a supporto del loro secondo album Seventeen Seconds e del nuovo singolo “A Forest”.
La loro prima tappa si tenne a Cherry Hill nel New Jersey.
A New York i Cure fecero tre concerti all’ Hurrah’s nightclub— dove Chris Stein e Debbie Harry si recarono appositamente per incontrarli.
Non sono disponibili molte informazioni sugli spettacoli di Washington DC e di Filadelfia: il concerto di Boston, che si tenne il giorno del compleanno di Robert Smith, è invece ben documentato.
Robert : “Abbiamo suonato tre notti – 15, 16 e 17 – all’Hurray di New York ed era pieno zeppo. ”
Simon : “È stato fatto con un budget ridotto ma è stato molto divertente. Invece di avere lattine di birra nel backstage, avremmo avuto shot di Southern Comfort! ”
